Why Ignite?

We’re a small program, on purpose.

Our goal at Ignite is to provide an enjoyable, high-quality experience for our players and families. Season after season, for many years to come. We don’t want to be the biggest program, with the most teams and coaches. We love that our community is small enough that our players and families can build long-term relationships as we grow together.

We do a few things to keep our quality promise:

· Every team has a set roster for the season

· Every team has a head coach who will run practices & coach games with support from Ignite’s leadership team

· Coach to athlete ratio is measured carefully, and each team has plenty of space in their practice gym slot

· We form only the quantity of teams that we have a balanced roster and an excellent coach waiting to support

· Our coaches & directors are accessible and can be easily reached to support an ongoing positive experience

We’re a small but mighty team.

Plain and simple. We work with great people who love teaching the game. Ignite coaches don’t cycle through, our staff returns season after season to continue building up athletes as they grow through the program.

Coach Jason

Coach Kristina

Coach Krystal

We develop players, for the long run.

This is Jared Ryg. He’s a junior guard at Hope College. He played for Ignite from 3rd grade all the way through high school. He worked his butt off in practice. He put up shots on his own time. He was loved by his coaches because his response to being pushed was always “thank you coach”. He is an excellent player but more importantly, an outstanding teammate and person. There were no shortcuts for Jared. He stuck with it. For a long time.

This is what it is about for us.

We believe our job is to help grow athletes for their long-term careers, not for a weekend championship medal. We build our teaching curriculum around the skills and characteristics we’ve seen firsthand be valuable at the high school level and beyond. Each grade level features a set of growth milestones to be sure players don’t skip any steps and advance into their next year with the strongest set of skills and knowledge possible.
