Amy has never played or coached the game of basketball, but has grown to be fond of it as 3 of her 4 kids have played the game for many years. She has been known to cheer very loudly at games, and is a very selfless person. One time, at her son Josh’s game, she even offered the referee her very own glasses so that he could see the game better. Truly a heartwarming gesture.

Amy loves the communicative aspect of the game; hearing players call out plays, defensive motions, and everything in between. Sometimes, she even communicates for the players, yelling things like, “Hey #22, guard your man or I’m going to come guard him for you!”

What makes Ignite special to Amy is the coaches. Her kids have played on dozens of teams over the years, and she feels that some of their best coaches have been with Ignite.

Outside of basketball, Amy and her family love to travel and see the world. She engages in whatever her kids are currently interested in, and as a result, has taken up skateboarding as a hobby in recent years. As soon as summertime arrives, her airpods connect, Nirvana plays, and she hits the skatepark for hours. “Headphones on, haters out” is her motto!
